Program Updates

The FY26 grant application period is now closed. Applications were due June 5, 2026. Please refer to the AMS Transportation and Marketing Program Grants and Cooperative Agreements Late, Nonresponsive, and Incomplete Applications Policy for more information.   • FY26 FMPP Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) (pdf). The NOFO is a primary resource for information about the Farmers Market Promotion Program grant. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review it carefully and follow its guidance.

Project Types

FMPP offers four types of projects, 36-month Capacity Building, 36-month Community Development Training and Technical Assistance, 24-month Turnkey Marketing and Promotion, and 24-month Turnkey Recruitment and Training. Capacity Building projects range from $50,000 to $250,000, while Community Development Training and Technical Assistance projects range from $100,000 to $500,000. Each of the turnkey project options are available for a defined set of activities, with funding amounts ranging from $50,000 and $100,000.

Eligibility

All applicants must be domestic entities owned, operated, and located within the 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, American Samoa, Guam, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or the U.S. Virgin Islands to be considered eligible. Entities that are eligible to apply include:

  1. Agricultural businesses and cooperatives.
  2. Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) networks and associations.
  3. Food councils.
  4. Economic development corporations.
  5. Local governments.
  6. Nonprofit and public benefit corporations.
  7. Producer networks or associations.
  8. Regional farmers’ market authorities.
  9. Tribal governments.

Cost Sharing

The program requires cost share contributions in an amount equal to 25 percent of the total Federal portion of the grant.
